  • Basic level A1

    Requirement: None

The course is designed to deepen and expand your already existing skills for active participation in every day and working life in a German-speaking environment. Special attention is given to topics such as moving as well as finding your way in everyday life and road traffic, profession, study and work, vacations and holidays, clothing, weather, body, and health.

The required vocabulary is systematically developed. Our focus is on using the language in a communicative way while reading, speaking, and writing in class. Grammatical structures are linked to topics and language activities that are necessary for communication at this level.

At the end of the course, you will be able to

    • express yourself appropriately in everyday situations

Reading and listening comprehension always address helpful topics appropriate to the level, such as city and country, culture, the working world, celebrations and gifts, body language, inventions, and inventors. In writing, personal and official letters and emails are practiced. In communication, pictures and situations are looked at and everyday conversations are learned. Grammar includes sentence compounds, past tense, prepositions, final subordinate clauses, and passive voice.

At the end of the course, you will be able to

    • formulate letters, e-mails, and SMS messages

    • understanding factual information
    • express and explain your own opinion

The focus in this course is on expanding vocabulary and specific training of written and oral skills using new and previously learned grammar. This is achieved not only through tasks to improve reading and listening comprehension, but also by increasing vocabulary. In addition, grammar exercises are used to train writing and speaking skills. The topics of profession, lifestyles, consumption, vacations, and the environment form an interesting basis.

At the end of the course, you will be able to

    • understand or present as well as discuss facts from the everyday and scientific fields.

Topics from the learners' experiences, such as world heritage, dying languages, tips on exams, historical events, the effect of colors, and future scenarios form the basis of the work materials.
